About Us

Bespoke OT is a dedicated team of Occupational Therapists, Support Coordinators and Allied Health Assistants committed to delivering highly personalised, evidence-based care.

We support children, teenagers, and adults with varying needs, including autism, psychosocial disability, physical disability, neurological impairment, intellectual disability, and developmental delay. We work from a trauma-informed, neuroaffirming lens, creating safe, respectful spaces.

Founded by Director Occupational Therapist Jasmine, who brings 19 years of clinical experience, Bespoke OT is built on the premise that therapy should be flexible, empowering, and truly person-centred, hence the name ‘Bespoke’. Our approach combines hands-on support with compassionate guidance, ensuring that every client and their family receives the tools and strategies needed to gain mastery over their daily life, in areas which matter the most to them.

We work in collaboration with individuals, families, carers, and stakeholders to develop practical, achievable goals which promote independence and wellbeing. Our team understands that every person is unique, which is why we tailor our services to suit your specific needs and circumstances.

Our Team

  • JASMINE SMITHERS

    FOUNDER | DIRECTOR OT

After graduating with a double degree in OT and Primary Education, Jasmine dabbled as a Primary School Teacher, although quickly realised her passion lay in supporting people to live rich, meaningful lives beyond the curriculum. She commenced a long journey across adult, youth, and paediatrics in WA hospitals, then completed a Post Grad Certificate in Mental Health Practice (2009).

Next, a 3-year London escapade saw her working with children and teenagers with disabilities and exploring the great European continent on weekends. On returning to Perth, Jasmine worked in child and adolescent mental health, eating disorders, and eventually moved into support coordination and private OT practice.

Jasmine brings heartfelt commitment to supporting people to live their very best lives, with a deep belief in the potential of every person to grow, adapt, and thrive.

  • INGRID WOOD

    SENIOR OT

Ingrid is a dedicated occupational therapist with a passion for helping people regain independence and improve their quality of life. She trained in New Zealand, graduating in 1997. Since moving to Perth, she has spent over a decade working in public hospitals and emergency departments, where she developed a strong appreciation for working with the elderly population.

Over the years, Ingrid has found that every person has a unique story to tell—and she loves listening. She finds it incredibly rewarding to use her occupational therapy skills to enable independence and make a real difference in people’s lives. Her approach is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to embrace life to the fullest—whether it’s overcoming physical challenges, adapting to change, or rediscovering meaningful activities.

Ingrid lives by the motto Carpe diem – Seize the day! and is passionate about helping her clients do exactly that.

  • SIMONE D'MELLO

    SENIOR OT

Simone is a dedicated Occupational Therapist whose career began in 2016 after graduating from Curtin University in Perth. Since then, she has embraced a diverse and rewarding journey across aged care, forensic occupational therapy within a maximum-security prison, and various NDIS roles in both Perth and Melbourne. A particularly meaningful chapter of her career was spent in Port Hedland, where she worked across both the public and private sectors for three years.

Simone’s clinical interests include Assistive Technology, Functional Capacity Assessments, Capacity Building in Daily Activities, and Sensory Processing, especially its influence on emotional regulation and attention in primary school-aged children. She also has a strong interest in fine motor development and is passionate about delivering personalised, respectful care that empowers individuals to live life to the fullest.

Outside of work, Simone enjoys sunny Perth days, wine tasting around the city, and spending time with friends and family.

  • KENDRA BURGESS

    OT ASSISTANT

Kendra’s background is rooted in health administration, but her natural curiosity and love of learning about others led her to become an occupational therapy assistant (OTA). She enjoys the hands-on nature of the role, finding it both fun and fulfilling. As an OTA, she is driven by the opportunity to empower others to live more independent, meaningful lives—whatever that unique “occupation” may be.

Kendra loves the variety that each day brings and values the continuous learning that comes with the role.

Outside of work, Kendra is a proud mum of two wonderful kids who keep her busy. She’s passionate about holistic health, good food, and travel—whether it’s exploring wellness practices, trying new cafes, or discovering new places. In her downtime, she enjoys walking, reading (especially fantasy), practising yoga, and catching up on Netflix.

Our Approach

At Bespoke OT, our services are person-led and family-centred—tailored to each individual’s unique strengths, goals, and needs. Whether therapy takes place at home, school, work, in the community, or online, we focus on what matters most to our clients, delivering support that’s practical, meaningful, and real-life.

We accept referrals across all life stages and support people with a wide range of diagnoses and functional challenges. Our therapists have extensive experience working with individuals with psychosocial disabilities, autism, intellectual disability, trauma histories, complex mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, neurological conditions, and physical disabilities. We offer tailored, therapeutic blocks of support - designed to create meaningful change in response to the specific goals. We will always review progress and encourage therapeutic breaks to recharge, consolidate, and refresh.

We proudly support and stand with LGBTQIA+ individuals, gender-diverse people, neurodiverse communities, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - all of whom make up our bespoke OT community. We are committed to inclusive, culturally safe, and affirming therapy. We welcome support people in our sessions and work closely with families, support coordinators, GPs, allied health teams, educators, employers, and significant others to deliver collaborative, wraparound care.

Our name defines us - every aspect of our therapy is truly “bespoke.” Grounded in a gentle, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed approach, we meet people where they’re at and walk alongside them to support a functional, fulfilling life.

Bespoke OT strives to empower individuals to live a life where they feel valued, competent, and able to meaningfully contribute to their community.
