Frequently Asked Questions

Supporting you starts with clear information. Let’s dive in.

1. What is occupational therapy?

Occupational therapy (OT) helps people of all ages do the things that matter most to them, whether that’s daily self-care, work, school, relationships, or leisure. At Bespoke OT, we support clients to live more independent, meaningful, and fulfilling lives by tailoring therapy to each person’s goals, strengths, and needs.

2. Who do you support? And what are your fees?

We work with people at all stages of life and with a wide range of needs. Our team has extensive experience supporting individuals with psychosocial disability, autism, intellectual disability, trauma histories, complex mental health, neurological and physical disabilities, and acquired brain injuries. We accept referrals for people who are:

  • private fee paying in person and via Telehealth

  • self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants

  • accessing Medicare chronic condition management plans

Our fees are $193.99 per hour across the board irrespective of the funding body; for in-person and for Telehealth consulting. This is the industry price cap for NDIS participants and we charge the same rate for individuals who are private fee paying or using Medicare chronic condition management plan. You may be able to claim private health rebates, or the $62 Medicare rebate, depending on your level of cover.

3. Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes! We provide flexible, accessible online OT services to clients across Australia to people who are private fee paying or using a Medicare care plan or their NDIS plan. Telehealth is ideal for remote areas, busy schedules, or people who prefer accessing therapy from the comfort of their home. Telehealth is personalised to your goals, and can absolutely be just as effective as in-person.

4. Where does therapy take place?

Our services are flexible. We offer therapy in our Booragoon clinic, in the home, at school, in the workplace, in community settings, or online via telehealth - wherever works best for you. We always focus on what’s most relevant and meaningful in real life.

5. Do I need a referral to access your services?

Whilst a referral form is straightforward, no formal referral is needed. You can contact us directly to chat about how we can support you or someone you care for; and we can assist you to populate a form, our end. We also accept referrals from support coordinators, GPs, allied health professionals, lawyers, and families.

6. What can occupational therapy help with?

OT can support with:

  • Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs)

  • Emotional regulation and executive functioning

  • Daily living and self-care skills

  • Sensory processing

  • ARFID and eating-related challenges

  • ADHD and autism support

  • Parent and carer coaching

  • School and education-based consultations

7. Is your approach inclusive?

Absolutely, 100%. We are deeply committed to providing culturally safe, inclusive, and affirming care. We proudly support LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse individuals, neurodivergent communities, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We welcome all identities and lived experiences, and your support people are always welcome in sessions.

8. Do you provide NDIS services?

Yes, we provide services under the NDIS, including therapy and Functional Capacity Assessments. We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

9. What are Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs)?

A Functional Capacity Assessment is a detailed report that outlines a person's ability to carry out everyday activities and their support needs. These are often used for NDIS access or plan reviews and are completed by one of our experienced OTs.

10. How do I get started?

It’s easy! Just tell us about you or the person you’re referring and we’ll be in touch to take it from there. We’ll talk through your needs, answer any questions, and help you book an initial session or consultation.
